Integral Antenna

Class 1 Bluetooth device

operating at 7dBm

Range: Over 20m

The Brain Boxes Type II PCMCIA card allows a personal

computer with a PCMCIA slot to communicate with other

Bluetooth devices. It is based on the Cambridge Silicon Radio

BC01b chip, which interfaces to a UART running at 921,600

baud, allowing communications at the full Bluetooth data

rates. The antenna for the board is built into the PCB.

This card is part of a wide range of Bluetooth products

available from Brain Boxes including Type I Compact Flash,

USB and RS232.

This card is available with Brain Boxes drivers and Bluetooth

Alternatively the Brain Boxes card can be used with a Bluetooth

software stack from a third party vendor.

As a result of our partnership program, Brain Boxes products are arguably

supported by the widest range of third party stack vendors.

Notes

This card is currently tested to

•

7dBm, equivalent to a range of

over 20m in open air or with line

of sight. This is set in software and

will be upgradeable .

This product has on board flash,

•

making it user upgradeable to

the latest version of the

Bluetooth specification.

As an indication (although these results

may differ greatly depending on location),

we have tested 2 cards talking to each

other at distances of 210metres in line of

site and over 35metres in a standard office

environment through several walls.
