Typical  
TheLVCH16543A16-bitregisteredtransceiveris builtusingadvanced  
dual metal CMOS technology. The LVCH16543A can be used as two 8-  
bittransceivers orone 16-bittransceiver. Separate latch-enable (LEAB  
orLEBA)andoutput-enable(OEABorOEBA)inputsareprovidedforeach  
registertopermitindependentcontrolineitherdirectionofdata flow. The  
A-to-Benable (CEAB)inputmustbe lowinordertoenterdata fromthe A  
portortooutput data fromthe Bport. LEAB controls the latch function.  
WhenLEABis low,the AtoBlatches are transparent. Asubsequentlow-  
to-hightransitionofLEAB puts the Alatches inthe storage mode. OEAB  
performs outputenablefunctionontheBport. DataflowfromtheBportto  
the A port is similar but requires using CEBA, LEBA, and OEBA inputs.  
Flow-throughorganizationofsignalpins simplifies layout. Allinputs are  
designedwithhysteresis forimprovednoise margin.

APPLICATIONS:  
• 5V and 3.3V mixed voltage systems  
TheLVCH16543Ahasbeendesignedwitha±24mAoutputdriver. This  
driver is capable of driving a moderate to heavy load while maintaining  
speedperformance.  
• Data communication and telecommunication systems  
The LVCH16543A has “bus-hold” which retains the inputs’ last state  
whenevertheinputgoestoahighimpedance. Thispreventsfloatinginputs  
andeliminates the needforpull-up/downresistors.
