GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The VSC5529 device is a precision Lithium Niobate (LiNbO ), non-return to zero (NRZ) modulator driver. The input

can be driven single-ended or differentially, with a single-ended sensitivity of 250 mV. The VSC5529 device provides

a high-quality single-ended output with amplitude control, precision amplitude monitoring circuitry, and eye crossing

point control. The VSC5529 device provides a digital limiting amplifier function to ensure high quality and very

repeatable output signal characteristics, even with less than optimal input signals. Key specifications include

ultra-small form factor, fast rise time and fall time, low output jitter, high voltage drive capability, high input

sensitivity, and low rail ripple. Furthermore, the VSC5529 device amplitude control feature is specially designed to

provide consistent output signal shape and crossing point over the full range of control.

The VSC5529 device is packaged in an advanced 16 mm x 16 mm BGA. This package has impedance-matched

transitions to ensure high quality signaling both into and out of the BGA.

The VSC5529 device is available in two voltage output ranges. The VSC5529MM-03 provides 4 V to 7 V output

range and the VSC5529MM-04 provides 3 V to 5.5 V output range.
