18 pin PIC Panic Module
Farnell Order Code 113-578
Have you ever been in a panic to produce something in a hurry?
Have you prototyped a PIC project and wanted to box it up to give a professional
looking unit?
Look no further. Two ready assembled modules have been developed
to enable prototyping with either 18 or 28 pin 16Cxx PIC’s and then
simply replace the cover and mount accordingly.
The modules comprise a socket for the PIC with all the I/O brought
out, a small proto-block, a 78L05 regulator and a 4MHz resonator
(socketed).
With the addition of a COMMS module, remote data transfer is possible on either
RS232 (2xTX, 2xRX pins) or RS485 (with terminating resistor). The modules plug
directly into the proto-board and are fitted with screw connectors for external cable
connections.
Use with a PICSTART Plus Programmer and the PIC of your choice.

Notes
For applications using the PIC16Cxx series, the 10K resistor (R1) may be removed. This resistor
is used to ensure the RTCC / TMR0 line does not float on PIC16C5x applications. As the
construction and software is out of our control, it is up to the user to ensure the product meets
EMC regulations.
