PRODUCT BRIEF

Features

General Description

• TFT/LCD display supply

- Boost regulator

The EL7584C is a 4-channel DC:DC converter IC which is designed

primarily for use in TFT_LCD applications. It features a 2V to 14V

input capability and provides 5V to 18V output from a boost con-

verter. This output is designed to power the column drivers and can

provide up to 300mA @15V or 550mA @5V output. A regulator is

then used to generate a V_COMvoltage from 2V to 13V at up to 50mA

continuous output current. The regulator provides a buffered output at

V_COMwhich follows the voltage applied to pin IPCOM. A pair of

charge pump control circuits provide outputs to allow the external

generation of V_ONand V_OFFsupplies at 5V to 40V and 0V to -40V,

respectively (depending on the V_BOOSTset and external component

configuration), each at up to 80mA for V_BOOST= 15V.

The EL7584C features adjustable switching frequency and on-chip

power sequence to simplify start-up operation. A separate input is

available to externally increase the default delay of the positive charge

pump. An over-temperature feature is provided to allow the IC to be

automatically protected from excessive power dissipation.
