FEATURES
GENERAL DES°RIPTION
Qualified for automotive applications
High performance
Temperature accuracy:
1ꢀ° from −55ꢀ° to +175ꢀ° (2.7 V to 3.3 V)
16-bit temperature resolution: 0.0078ꢀ°
The ADT7312 is a 1ꢀ° aꢁꢁurate digital temperature sensor
that operates over a very wide temperature range of −55ꢀ° to
+175ꢀ° and is available in die form only. It ꢁontains an internal
band gap referenꢁe, a temperature sensor, and a 16-bit analog-
to-digital ꢁonverter (AD°) to monitor and digitize the temper-
Fast first temperature conversion on power-up of 6 ms
Easy implementation
No temperature calibration or correction required
No linearity correction required
Low power
Power-saving 1 sample per second (SPS) mode
880 μW typical at 3.6 V in normal mode
9 μW typical at 3.6 V in shutdown mode
Wide operating ranges
Temperature range: −55ꢀ° to +175ꢀ°
Voltage range: 2.7 V to 5.5 V
ature to a resolution of 0.0078ꢀ°. The default AD° resolution
is 13 bits (0.0625ꢀ°). The AD° resolution ꢁan be ꢁhanged to
16 bits (0.0078ꢀ°) using the serial interfaꢁe.
The ADT7312 is guaranteed to operate over supply voltages
from 2.7 V to 5.5 V. At 3.6 V operation, the average supply
ꢁurrent is typiꢁally 245 μA. The ADT7312 has a shutdown
mode that powers down the deviꢁe, resulting in a typiꢁal
shutdown ꢁurrent of 2.5 μA at 3.6 V. The ADT7312 is rated
for operation over the −55ꢀ° to +175ꢀ° temperature range.
The °T pin is an open-drain output that beꢁomes aꢁtive when
the temperature exꢁeeds a programmable ꢁritiꢁal temperature
limit. The default ꢁritiꢁal temperature limit is 147ꢀ°. The INT
pin is also an open-drain output that beꢁomes aꢁtive when the
temperature exꢁeeds a programmable limit. The INT pin and
the °T pin ꢁan operate in either ꢁomparator or interrupt mode.
Programmable interrupts
°ritical overtemperature interrupt
Overtemperature/undertemperature interrupt
SPI-compatible interface
Available in die form only
