Reduce optical micro bends and fiber breakage with Molex’s Tight-Jacketed
Cable Connectors, designed for synchronized plug-and-cable movement with
tight, outer-jacket cable commonly deployed in rugged military and industrial
applications
Tight-Jacketed Cable
LC and SC Connectors
106021 LC Simplex and Duplex
Connectors
Tight, outer-jacket cables are a necessity to withstand the harsh environments found
in military and industrial applications. Designed with an elongated internal ferrule
plug, tight-jacketed cable LC and SC connectors allow the fiber to move in tandem
with the internal plug, thereby reducing potential for micro bends, increased insertion
loss and fiber breakage.
106063 SC Simplex and Duplex
Connectors
SC and LC connectors were originally designed for pullproof (non-optically
disconnecting) applications which require the fiber to move independently of
the cable jacket. When used with tight-jacketed cables, the independent internal
movement of standard SC and LC connector ferrules can induce a micro bend
in some jacket constructions, which can lead to increased insertion loss or fiber
breakage.Tight-jacketed cable connectors are designed with a longer ferrule plug,
allowing termination of ferrule and plug to the jacketed cable and strength member
to ensure synchronized movement.

FEATURES AND BENEFITS
• Industry-standard compliant LC and
SC interconnects mate to industry-
standard LC and SC connectors
and adapters; cable assemblies are
built utilizing standard LC and SC
termination tools
• Available for multimode and
singlemode versions; for use with all
typical fiber types
• Available in simplex or duplex
configurations; for use with single- or
dual-fiber cable configurations
• Optical cable terminates directly to the
ferrule plug allowing fiber in the tight-
jacketed cable to move in sync with
internal ferrule plug, reducing potential
for micro bends, increased insertion
loss or fiber breakage
• Available with straight or 90° boots,
providing cable routing flexibility
• Angled Physical Contact (APC)
ferrules available, providing superior
return loss of -60dB or better
• Cables tested using MIL-PRF-85045
cable meeting reliability standards for
military and aerospace applications as
well as mining industry MSHA rated
cables and other ruggedized cables
