China NT1 Board

Version 1.0

The China NT1 Board is a fully

functional standard Network

Termination (NT1) for basic rate

ISDN. This board transfers data

and voice transparently between

U- and S-interfaces according to

ITU I.430. At the U-interface the

2B1Q line code is used. This

board is especially designed to

meet the Chinese requirements.

Functionality

Hardware Features

Selection between bus and

point-to-point configuration

The China NT1 Board consists of

two functional blocks: the transceiv-

er and the DC/DC converter.

PEB 8091 transceiver for

U-interface (2B1Q) and

S-interface

Contact pads to select test

modes for U- and S-interfaces to

ease approvals and for testing

requirements

Connector for an AC/DC

converter to provide S-feeding

in the normal power mode

(NPM) and the input voltage for

the DC/DC module

The transceiver is the NTC-Q

PEB 8091. This device integrates all

functionality for transferring data

transparently between the

Pin-programmable ACT bit in

loop 2 meets ETSI and ANSI

specification

U- and S-interfaces.

Contact pad to select automatic

activation oftheU-interface after

power-up

DC/DC module for both NT

supply (+5 V) and S-feeding in

the restricted power mode

(RPM, -40 V) with PEB 2023

The DC/DC converter is realized in a

module and contains the power con-

troller IDCC PEB 2023. It generates

both the chip supply voltage (+5 V)

and S-interface feeding voltage for

the restricted power mode (-40 V).

PTCs for overcurrent protection

at the U-interface

Relay switches between normal

and restricted power modes

Red LED indicates the availabil-

ity of the main power supply

An external AC/DC converter, not

delivered with this board, can pro-

vide +40 V in normal power mode to

feed several S-interface terminals

and the DC/DC module.

Red LED indicates DC/DC

converter working

Green LED indicates the activa-

tion status of the NTC-Q

The ANSI and ETSI performance

and power consumption require-

ments are met.
