OZ2206
Short Form Datasheet
Dual-Slot Serial PCMCIA/CardBus Power Controller
FEATURES
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The OZ2206 is a dual slot PCMCIA (Personal Computer
Memory Card International Association) PC Card and
CardBus power controller. It is used in conjunction with a
serial data output, CardBus controller to control and
distribute Vcc and Vpp voltages to two PC Card slots.
When connected to 3.3V, 5V, and 12V system power
supplies, the OZ2206 can switch its Vcc and Vpp outputs
between 0V, 3.3V, and 5.0V, in accordance with the control
commands from the three-wire serial interface. The
OZ2206 also features low on-resistance MOSFET switches
for 5V and 3.3V Vcc.
•
Complete VCC and VPP switch for dual-slot PC Card
interface
Standard 3-wire serial interface compatible with
CardBus Controllers
High-efficiency, low-resistance switches
Meets PC Card standard
Compatible with 3.3V, 5V and 12V PC Cards
Operates in 3.3V low voltage mode when 3.3V is the
only available input voltage
Current limit and over temperature shutdown
12V supply can be disabled except during 12V Flash
memory programming
Break-before-make switching
Low on-resistance for 5V Vcc

The OZ2206 operation does not require 12V and 5V
supplies, making it possible to operate the PC cards in low-
power 3.3V modes. The internal logic and the MOSFET
drive circuitry are powered by the 3V supply input.

Low on-resistance for 3.3V Vcc
The OZ2206 is protected by over temperature shutdown,
and it protects itself and the system with current limiting
and cross-conduction lockout.
ORDERING INFORMATION
The OZ2206 is designed for full compatibility with the
PCMCIA PC Card Specification, including the CardBus and
Zoomed Video (ZV) options, and is pin-to-pin compatible
with Texas Instrument’s TPS2206/2216.
