General Description
Benefits and Features
The MAX22507E/MAX22508E ESD-protected RS-485/
RS-422 full-duplex transceivers are optimized for high-
speed communication up to 50Mbps. These transceivers
feature integrated hot-swap protection and a fail-safe re-
ceiver, ensuring a logic-high on the receiver output when
input signals are shorted or open for longer than 10μs
(typ). Additionally, a large receiver hysteresis improves
noise rejection and signal integrity.

Protection
The MAX22507E/MAX22508E are designed to operate in
harsh industrial environments and are optimized for robust
communication in environments with high levels of electro-
magnetic interference (EMI).
• Withstands Over ±4kV EFT
• Driver Outputs are Short-Circuit Protected
The MAX22507E is available in a 10-pin μMAX package
and the MAX22508E is available in an 8-pin SOIC pack-
age. μMAX is the Maxim-trademarked equivalent to the in-
dustry-standard MSOP package. Both transceivers oper-
ate over the -40°C to +125°C temperature range.
