General Decriion  
The HMC9LC5 is a mpact GaAs MMIC I/Q  
upconver in a leadless RoHS compliant SMT  
pack. Thdevice provides  
a small signal  
conversain of dB with -20 dBc of sideband  
rejection. TH709LC5 utilizes a driver amplifier  
preceded by aI/Q mixer which is driven by an LO  
uffer amper. IF1 and IF2 mixer inputs are provided  
aan xternal 90° hybrid is needed to select the  
requd sideband. The I/Q mixer topology reduces  
he need for filtering of the unwanted sideband. The  
HMC709LC5 is a much smaller alternative to hybrid  
style single sideband upconverter assemblies and it  
eliminates the need for wire bonding by allowing the  
use of surface mount manufacturing techniques.
