Bulletin Effective Date: 1/16/2017

Description:

Silicon Labs is pleased to provide updates to the Si3402-B and Si3402-C datasheets.

Specific changes (Si3402-B Rev 1.1 and Si3402-C Rev 1.0 datasheets):

-Deleted Surge Immunity Ratings table. ESD data is now contained in the Qualification Summary, and

other surge information is described in the Design Guide

-Updated "2. Typical Application Schematics*" on page 7.

-Added new section, "3.5. Output Voltage and Thermal Considerations" on page 15.

-Deleted references to Class 4 operation.

-Updated Figure 3, “Input Lineside and Hotswap Block Diagram,” on page 9

-Added Figure 4, “UVLO Behavior and Threshold Voltages,” on page 11.

-Updated Figure 5, “Switching Regulator Block Diagram,” on page 14 (formerly Figure 4)

Additional changes (Si3402-C Rev 1.0 datasheet only):

-Removed references to PLOSS, which is not featured on Si3402-C.

-Added notes that Si3402-C does not require PCB connections to CT1, CT2, SP1, or SP2 when

bypassing the internal diode bridge for high-power applications.

Reason:

ESD data is being deleted from the datasheet and is now contained only in the Qualification Summary,

which allows these datasheets to conform to corporate standards.

Other changes listed in Description are being made to improve clarity and enhance understanding of the

operation of the device.
