Video Signal Noise Reduction IC with a Built-in Frame Memory

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The ML87V2107, which comprises a frame memory and signal processing and memory control logic circuits, can

reduce frame-recursive noise.

The motion adaptive noise reduction is performed between frames, between fields, or between lines, to reduce the

afterimage particular to 3D noise reduction as far as possible, while achieving effective noise reduction.

To perform noise reduction with afterimage suppression, the ML87V2107 is capable of space filter type noise

reduction by LPF with edge compensation.

The ML87V2107 is capable of automatic setting of optimum noise reduction by measuring noise of input data.

The ML87V2107 has a frame buffer output function that uses frame memory. This function enables data output by

a Sync. signal generated from the internal Sync. signal generator or by an externally input Sync. signal.

Through the use of this frame buffer output function, the following operations are enabled: External synchronous

frame buffer output, input vertical synchronous frame buffer output, asynchronous frame buffer output, and

frame-trigger-synchronous frame buffer output.

The use of these frame buffer output features allows a time base corrector and a frame synchronizer function to be

configured.
