DESCRIPTION:
Space Electronics’ 80387RP (RP for RAD-PAK®) high speed microcircuit
features a typical 100 kilorad (Si) total dose tolerance. Using Space Elec-
tronics radiation-hardened RAD-PAK® packaging technology, the
80387RP is a high-performance numerics processor that extends the
80386DX architecture with floating point, extended integer and BCD data
types. The computing system fully conforms to the ANSI/IEEE floating-
point standard. Using a numerics oriented architecture, the 80387RP adds
over seventy mnemonics to the 80386DXRP instruction set, making the
80386DXRP/80387RP a complete solution for high-performance numer-
ics processing. Capable of surviving space environments, the 80387RP is
ideal for satellite, spacecraft, and space probe missions. The 80387RP has
a total dose survivability of greater than 100 krad(Si), based on a GEO
type orbit (actual TID tolerance depends upon orbit and mission dura-
tion.) Space Electronics’ RAD-PAK® incorporates radiation shielding in the
microcircuit package. It eliminates box shielding while providing lifetime
in orbit. This product is available in Class B and Class S packaging and
screening.
