1 General description
The NPS3000VV is a piezoresistive, differential pressure sensor with the industry's
smallest form factor package with a size of 4 mm width, 5 mm length and 1.315 mm
height. It has best in class accuracy performance at ±3 Pascals.
The device utilizes either an I2C or SPI digital communication interface to the host.
The MEMS is temperature compensated utilizing an on-chip temperature sensor. The
pressure and temperature data is digitized by a high resolution ADC providing a fully
compensated and digitized output for pressure in Pascals and temperature in °C. The
internal processing in the NPS3000VV removes compensation and unit conversion load
from the system MCU simplifying system design and reducing power.
The advanced ASIC has multiple user programmable modes such as power saving,
interrupt and autonomous data acquisition modes, including programmed acquisition
cycle timing, ODR/OSR selection and poll-only modes.
The 12 pin LGA package has dual vents (one on the lid and one on the base), is
specified for calibrated operation from –40°C to 105°C and is CTI-250 and RoHS
compliant. There are a number of porting options available for this sensor. The customer
can design application specific ports for their design that attach to the PCB. NXP
Semiconductors also provides porting reference designs allowing faster time to market.
