TransDimension’s TD1120 is the market’s first single-chip  
USB On-the-Go (OTG) controller that incorporates a Full-  
Speed host and a High-Speed peripheral controller onto  
single silicon chip. It enables embedded systems to

controller, enables users to perform high speed USB data

host device, and operates at full speed in host mode

ƒ Allows for flexibility of port configurations including:  
o 3 ports: 2 Full-Speed host and 1 High-Speed  
peripheral  
o 2 ports: 1 Full-Speed host and 1 OTG port  
ƒ Single 3.3V power supply, flexible I/O voltage of 2.5V  
to 3.3 V (LVCMOS/TTL) to interface to a wide range  
of MCUs  
In mobile applications, the TD1120 enables high speed  
PC synchronization to reduce data file transfer time when  
it operates as a peripheral and in host mode it enables the  
system to connect to a wide range of USB devices such  
as thumb drives, keyboard, mouse, digital still camera  
ƒ Low power operation, suitable for mobile applications:  
o 40mA (max) for host operation  
o 80mA (max) for peripheral operation  
(DSC), with low power operation.

The TD1120 is well suited for PictBridge printers. It  
enables high speed data file transfer between PC and  
printer, while utilizing the host port, it adds PictBridge  
printing capability to the printer to support direct photo  
printing from a DSC. The TD1120 replaces existing two-  
chip solutions by combining discrete host and peripheral  
controller into one single chip solution, thus reducing  
system cost, board space, minimizing design complexity,  
and lowering power consumption.

o 84-ball TF-BGA (7x7mm) package  
o 100-pin LQFP (12x12mm) package  
ƒ Memory mapped interface can gluelessly interface to  
the system bus of most popular microprocessors,  
RISC, CISC, and DSPs including but not limited to  
x86, Intel XScale & StrongARM, ARM7, ARM9,  
Motorola PowerPC, ColdFire and Dragonball among  
others  
The TD1120 allows for multiple port configurations,  
simultaneous host and peripheral operations, and flexible  
operating modes. The following modes are supported:  
ƒ Fast microprocessor access cycle and double/multi-  
buffering support for all four types of USB transfers  
1 OTG + 1 Host: One OTG port and one standard  
ƒ Two DMA (slave) channels support for peripheral  
host port  
controller, lowers system CPU utilization  
1 Peripheral + 2 Host: One High-Speed USB  
ƒ Integrated PLL supports external crystal or crystal  
peripheral port and two Full-Speed host ports  
oscillators of 12MHz and 30MHz, for system flexibility  
TransDimension offers a breadth of software products and  
experience, the Softconnex software solution is ported to  
a wide variety of RTOSs, interface code to our controllers,  
and USB device drivers to provide a complete, proven  
embedded USB solution.

8K bytes of on-chip SRAM, optimized buffer size for  
performance/cost  
ƒ Allows up to 8 bi-directional endpoints and transfers to  
enable support for multi-function systems
