QXpanderÔ Processor

Device Specifications - Preliminary Information

General Description

Fabricated using bipolar technology and

available in plastic 22 pin SDIP and 18

pin SOP packages. Other package

options may be offered upon request.

The QXpander^™QX2014 is a bipolar analog

stereo enhancement processor. This device is

part of the QX chip family offered by

QSound Labs, and uses the patented

QXpander technique to produce a spatial or

widened stereo image from ordinary left and

right channel inputs.

Television sound systems (Stereo)

Personal, portable & home entertainment

audio systems

This audio enhancement is achieved using

normal stereo signals and standard audio

playback equipment including two ordinary

speakers.

Desktop and laptop PC audio systems

Multimedia speaker systems

Video Games systems

The 2014 has a TTL-compatible QEN/BYP

control to select between QXpander

enhancement and normal stereo audio. In

addition, an analog “spread” control pin

provides for continuous adjustment of the

degree of expansion. User adjustment may be

implemented using a simple single-gang

potentiometer.
