PRODUCT and ORDERING INFORMATION
PIGTAILS and PATCH CORDS
optical singlemode fiber
Singlemode fiber Ø 0.9 mm has a 500m primary coating of
acrylic and a tight coating of 0.9 mm polyamide.
Patch cords have also a Ø 2 mm polyethylene (PE) sheath
which is flame-retardant, halogen free and has a strength
member (kevlar).
DESIGN
Pigtails are used for splicing to the incoming optical cable
in optical termination units. Pigtails are made with both
single fiber and ribbon with fanout.
Patch cords with singlemode fiber, are used in telecom
housings for connection between fiber optical termination
units.
The four fiber ribbon design has a coating on each fiber
bundle of 0.4 mm acrylate (encapsulated).
The cables are intended for indoor use but have a tempera-
ture range of -20 ºC to +70 ºC.
The smallest bending radius for pigtails and patch cords
is 35 mm.
Both pigtails and patch cords are produced with several
connector and cabel types. Each connector type can be
delivered with several different performances.
