description
The TPPM0310 is a power distribution and management device designed primarily for either motherboard or
PCI card 1394a host applications where the power bus for internal 1394 PHY and/or LINK is required. The
TPPM0310is a switch mode regulated output power source configured for use in 1394a system. The step-down
(Buck) regulated voltage is designed for applications that require ≤5 V with load current ≤300 mA (see Output
Voltage Selection Table). The output switch (V ) is fully protected by having over-current limit and thermal
SW
shutdown features.
The TPPM0310 requires a minimum of external standard filter components to regulate the desired output
voltage. This is achieved with an internal oscillator frequency of 250 kHz (typical). The switch mode and
associated circuitry provide efficient regulation with a low quiescent current.
Inthepowerupmode, whenS1andS2arenoconnects, thedevicehasaninternalpulluponbothoftheseinputs
(S1 and S2). This ensures the device and its associated circuitry to regulate the output to 3.3 V. The enable input
has an internal pullup to ensure that the device is enabled on power up sequencing. By applying <0.8 V to the
ENABLE input, the device is disabled.
