The auto ꢃower-ꢄown feature functions when

FORCꢂON is low anꢄ FORCꢂOFF is high. During

this moꢄe of oꢃeration, if the ꢄevice ꢄoes not

sense a valiꢄ RE-2ꢅ2 signal, the ꢄriver outꢃuts

are ꢄisableꢄ. If FORCꢂOFF is set low, both

ꢄrivers anꢄ receivers (exꢃert R2B) are shut off,

anꢄ suꢃꢃly current is reꢄuceꢄ to 1 µA.

Disconnecting the serial ꢃort or turning off the

ꢃeriꢃheral ꢄrives causes the auto ꢃower-ꢄown

conꢄition to occur.

Description

The ETꢅ24ꢅꢂ ꢄevice consists of ꢅ ꢄrivers, ꢀ

receivers anꢄ a ꢄual charge-ꢃumꢃ circuit. The

ꢄevice meets the requirements of ꢂIA/TIA anꢄ

k.28/k.24 communication stanꢄarꢄs ꢃroviꢄing

high ꢄata rate caꢃability anꢄ enhanceꢄ

electrostatic ꢄischarge (ꢂED) ꢃrotection. All

transmitter outꢃuts anꢄ receiver inꢃut are

ꢃrotecteꢄ to 8 ꢁk UEING IꢂC 1000-4-2 contact

ꢄischarge anꢄ 1ꢀ ꢁk using the human boꢄy

moꢄel. The receiver R2 is always active to

imꢃlement a waꢁe-uꢃ feature for serial ꢃort.

Auto ꢃower-ꢄown can be ꢄisableꢄ when

FORCꢂON anꢄ FORCꢂOFF are high, anꢄ shoulꢄ

be ꢄone when ꢄriving a serial mouse. With auto

ꢃower-ꢄown enableꢄ, the ꢄevice is activateꢄ

automatically when a valiꢄ signal is aꢃꢃlieꢄ to any

receiver inꢃut.

The ETꢅ24ꢅꢂ has a ꢃroꢃrietary low-ꢄroꢃout

transmitter outꢃut stage enabling true RE-2ꢅ2

ꢃerformance from a ꢅ.0 k to ꢀ.ꢀ k suꢃꢃly with a

ꢄual charge ꢃumꢃ. The ꢄevice is guaranteeꢄ to

run at ꢄata rates of 2ꢀ0 ꢁbꢃs while maintaining

RE-2ꢅ2 outꢃut levels.
