Overview  
Supports high-speed (480Mbps) and full-speed (12Mbps)  
data transmissions  
The SM333, a high performing USB2.0 Flash memory  
card reader controller, is compatible with most up to  
date CF4.0, SDHC (SD2.0), MMC4.2, MemoryStick  
Pro, xD1.2 and SmartMedia. All Flash memory card  
host interfaces utilize the maximum data transmission  
rate. Furthermore, when working with external serial  
EEPROM, the SM333 is firmware upgradeable using the  
SMI In-System-Programming (ISP) tool. This ISP feature  
markedly reduces external firmware upgrade costs, and  
stores product vendor ID and product information in the  
same EEPROM space.

• CF v1.0/v2.0/v3.0/v4.0 specifications  
• PIO mode 0-6 and Ultra DMA mode 0-6  
• CF Type I and Type II  
- MicroDrive (MD)  
- Secure-Digital™ (SD) v1.0/ v1.1/ v2.0  
• SDHC, SD, Mini SD™ and Micro SD™  
- Multi-Media Card™ (MMC) specification  
v3.x/v4.0/v4.1/v4.2  
• MMC, High-Speed Multi Media Card™ (HS-MMC),  
RS MMC, MMC Micro and MMC-mobile  
Equipped with high-integration 0.16µm process  
technology, the SM331 built-in PowerMost FETs for  
memory card power and 3.3v/1.8v regulators for core  
logic and memory card power to lower material costs. The  
built-in Voltage Drop Detector (VDT) protects the SM333  
if a damaged Flash memory card is inserted.

The SM333 is driverless compatible with most common  
operating systems, including Windows Vista, XP, 2000,  
ME, WinCE5.0, MAC10x and Linux Redhat This Flash  
memory card reader is supported by the SMI vendor driver  
under Windows98 and 2000 SP1/SP2. The SM333 is  
optimized for system communication with Flash memory  
media, and is appropriate for either standalone card reader  
stations or embedded systems such as desktop and laptop  
PCs, game consoles, LCD TVs and photo printers.
