RS78XX
1.0A Low Dropout Positive Voltage Regulator
General Description
The RS78XX series can provide local on‐card regulation, eliminating the distribution problems associated with single point
regulation. Each employs internal current limiting, thermal shut‐down and safe operating area protection, making it essen‐
tially indestructible. If adequate heat sinking is provided, they can deliver over 1A output current. Although designed
primarily as fixed voltage regulators, these devices can be used with external components to obtain adjustable voltages
and currents.

This integrated circuit can be damaged by ESD. Orister Corporation recommends that all integrated circuits be handled with
appropriate precautions. Failure to observe proper handling and installation procedures can cause damage.
ESD damage can range from subtle performance degradation to complete device failure. Precision integrated circuits may be more
susceptible to damage because very small parametric changes could cause the device not to meet its published specifications.
