The PQ55540HTL05 PowerQor®® Tera half-brick converter is  
a next-generation, board-mountable, isolated, fixed switch-  
ing frequency DC/DC converter that uses synchronous recti-  
fication to achieve extremely high conversion efficiency. The  
power dissipated by the converter is so low that a heatsink  
is not required, which saves cost, weight, height, and appli-  
cation effort. The Tera series converters offer the maximum  
useable output power for a standard “half-brick” module.  
The 54V Tera units are designed to be used primarily in  
Power over Ethernet (PoE) applications. RoHS Compliant (see  
page 12).  
Operational Features  
PQ55540HTL05 Module  
• Ultra-high efficiency, 93% at full rated load current  
• Delivers up to 275 Watts of output power with mini-  
mal derating - no heatsink required  
• Input voltage range: 38V – 55V suitable for 48V bus  
applications

• Input under-voltage lockout disables converter at low  
input voltage conditions  
• Fixed frequency switching provides predictable EMI  
• Output current limit and short circuit shutdown protects  
performance

• Active back bias limit prevents damage to converter  
from external load induced pre-bias
