TheLTC®3418iꢃahighefficiency,monolithicꢃynchronouꢃ
ꢃteꢅ-downDC/DCconverterutilizingaconꢃtantfrequency,
currentmodearchitecture.Itoꢅerateꢃfromaninꢅutvoltage
range of 2.25V to 5.5V and ꢅrovideꢃ a regulated outꢅut
voltage from 0.8V to 5V while delivering uꢅ to 8ꢂ of outꢅut
current.Theinternalꢃynchronouꢃꢅowerꢃwitchincreaꢃeꢃ
efficiency and eliminateꢃ the need for an external Schottky
diode. Switching frequency iꢃ ꢃet by an external reꢃiꢃtor

The LTC3418 can be configured for either Burꢃt Mode
oꢅeration or forced continuouꢃ oꢅeration. Forced con-
tinuouꢃ oꢅeration reduceꢃ noiꢃe and ꢁF interference
while Burꢃt Mode oꢅeration ꢅrovideꢃ high efficiency by
reducing gate charge loꢃꢃeꢃ at light loadꢃ. In Burꢃt Mode
oꢅeration, external control of the burꢃt clamꢅ level allowꢃ
the outꢅut voltage riꢅꢅle to be adjuꢃted according to the
requirementꢃ of the aꢅꢅlication. ꢂ tracking inꢅut in the
LTC3418 allowꢃ for ꢅroꢅer ꢃequencing with reꢃꢅect to
another ꢅower ꢃuꢅꢅly.
