8V 3A Low Dropout Regulator with Disable

Features

General Description

Dropout voltage 0.85V @ I_O= 3A

Dropout voltage 0.2V @ I_O= 0.5A

Output current in excess of 3A

Output voltage accuracy ±2.5%

Quiescent current, typically 1.2mA

Internal short circuit current limit

Internal over temperature protection

TO-220 4pin Full-mold package

ON/OFF control

The G9308A positive 8V voltage regulator features the

ability to source 3A of output current. The dropout

voltage is 0.85V at 3A output current. The typical qui-

escent current is 1.2mA. Furthermore, the quiescent

current is smaller when the regulator is in the dropout

mode (V_IN< 8V).

Familiar regulator features such as over tem-

perature and over current protection circuits are

provided to prevent it from being damaged by

abnormal operating conditions. Pin V_disis pro-

vided to disable the output when needed.
