Quad 2-Input Exclusive-OR Gate

General Description

Features

The VHC86 is an advanced high speed CMOS Quad

Exclusive OR Gate fabricated with silicon gate CMOS tech-

nology. It achieves the high speed operation similar to

equivalent Bipolar Schottky TTL while maintaining the

CMOS low power dissipation.

■ High Speed: t_PD4.8 ns (typ) at V_CC5V

■ Low Power Dissipation: I_CCA (Max.) @ T_A25 C

■ High Noise Immunity: V_NIHV_NIL28% V_CC(Min.)

■ Power down protection is provided on all inputs

■ Low Noise: V_OLP0.8V (Max.)

An input protection circuit ensures that 0V to 7V can be

applied to the input pins without regard to the supply volt-

age. This device can be used to interface 5V to 3V systems

and on two supply systems such as battery back up. This

circuit prevents device destruction due to mismatched sup-

ply and input voltages.
