Ohmite power tap switches (high power rotary switches) are constructed to provide dependable, convenient
operation. All switches have ceramic arc-proof bodies (except 711), metal alloy contacts, and are of an
all-soldered and all-riveted construction which assures mechanical and operational integrity. The 711 Tap Switch
has a reinforced non-metal body and solid metal alloy contacts; a very small unit with high current handling
capability. These Tap Switches have a wide range of applications such as as arcwelders, battery chargers, motor
controls, X-ray equipment, etc. Additional number of taps, configurations, assemblies, and arrangements are

Model 711 Miniature Switch
Single pole, non-shorting selector switch with stationary and movable solid silver alloy contacts. Common
contact is rounded for assured seating. Self-cleaning with built in wiping action. Slow-break, quick-make action
achieved with cam and cam follower. Breaks 7 amps at 125 VAC (for 20 VDC); carries 15 amps at 125 VAC/DC.

Ceramic High-Current Rotary Switches

Models T505 and T507.
Non-shorting, single pole, rotary, multi-position unit with single, dual and triple tandem units. Bodies are high
grade, arc proof ceramic bodies. Large, solid, silver alloy contacts. Positive cam and roller mechanism provides
slow-break, quick-make action. Shaft is insulated by strong ceramic hubs. Enclosed mechanism. Contacts and
mechanism are entirely enclosed and protected.
Rated at 7 amps max, but only 3 amps at 120 VAC should be interrupted. Current ratings are less for inductive
circuits, high voltages and all direct current circuits above 20 volts. Porcelain base and porcelain ring carrying
the fixed contacts are vitreous coated. Metal tap contacts. Brush is silver graphite for very low resistance. Body
dia. is 25/16". Behind panel depth is 13/8". Weight: .28 lb. Knob 5150 is recommended.
